Good afternoon, all. PG&E has announced a potential power safety shut off event for Wednesday / Thursday of this week. Temperatures will be warm (although not excessively so); however, the winds will be high. The city of Winters is not in the potential PSPS zone, which is limited to rural passes and now a portion of Capay Valley.
The high winds, however, could trigger limb drops onto power lines, and the new line sensors could automatically shut down power, which is a fire prevention measure.
This is also a good time with high winds forecasted to batten down the hatches and secure light weight items. Please makes sure fence gates are secured to avoid dogs running loose.
