Winters Elder Day Council
The Winters Elder Day Council (WEDC) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit in the City of Winters that represents our older and elder adults residing in the City of Winters. Each year the WEDC hosts the Elder Day event where those elders 90‐years of age and older are recognized for their contributions to their families and the community. Our Elders are a rare breed. Entire history limbs are being lopped off family trees, and
their wisdom and lore are diminishing. People who survived world wars, polio, the Great Depression and the Holocaust, share their life experience with us.
The WEDC also conducts seminars related to older adult issue such as healthcare, cognitive health, physical health, transportation, homelessness, housing food, Medicare, isolation, fall prevention,
chronic disease management, pain management, medication management, and more.
The WEDC also publishes numerous articles in the Winters Express throughout the year. Each article is older adult related and discuses issues of concern like Medicare, transportation, healthcare, housing,
and more.
The Winters Elder Day Council are senior activists who are there for our older adults and advocate for them in numerous organizations. If you have older adult issues that we might be able to help with,
