Pool Opens Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Swim Team Weekdays, 12:30PM - 1:00PM & 1:15PM-1:45PM & 5:15PM-5:45PM
Swim Lessons

Session I                 June 9 – June 20

Session II                June 23 – July 4

Session III               July 7 – July 18

Session IV               July 21 – August 1

Private Swim Lessons are also available for all skill levels and sessions, $50 per session.

You MUST register and pay for Swim Lessons at the City Clerk's Office in City Hall prior to each session. Call 795-4910 x102 for more information

Recreation Swim The Bobbie Greenwood Community Swim Center is open to the public May 31st through August 10th.  Hours are  Daily 2PM-5PM

Adults, Teens & Children : $1.00 admission daily

Season Passes must be paid for at City Hall

Single Pass : $30.00

Each additional pass: $10.00

Family of four pass: $60.00

Each additional person: $10.00

 

Masters Swimming Monday - Friday, 6AM-7AM, 6PM-7PM

Saturday - Sunday, 10AM-12PM

Adult Lap Swim Monday - Friday, 7PM-8PM

Saturday - Sunday, 10AM-12PM

Swimming Lessons Schedule:

 
Session I & III (12:30PM-1PM & 5:15PM-5:45PM) Mom & Tot - Beginner I - Beginner III - Intermediate
Session I & III (1:15PM-1:45PM Kinder - Beginner II - Advanced Beginner - Intermediate
Session II & IV (12:30PM-1PM & 5:15PM- 5:45PM) Kinder - Beginner II - Advanced Beginner - Intermediate
Session II & IV (1:15PM-1:45PM) Mom & Tot - Beginner I - Beginner III - Intermediate

Description of Lessons:

Mom & Tot
Improves relations between parents and children. Children become comfortable in and around water. Mostly fun and games. Some basic skills are taught (i.e. blowing bubbles, gliding, etc.). Ages 2 mos – 2 years.

Kinder
Open to ages 3 – 5 years. (Those who are unable to touch the bottom of the pool).
Skills Learned: Blowing bubbles
Gliding with and without a kickboard
Floating on back
Holding breath
Class structured to adapt students’ familiarity with the water.

Beginner I
Children must be able to touch the bottom of the pool.
Skills Learned: Putting head under water
Blowing bubbles
Prone float
Prone glide
Prone glide and kick

Beginner II
Children must pass ALL beginner one skills.
Skills Learned: Proper arm stroke
Finning and skulling on back
Back float
Jumping into deep water
Treading water
Timing arm stroke with kick
Proper body alignment

Beginner III
Children must pass ALL beginner two skills.
Skills Learned: Swimming in deep water
Proper side breathing
Elementary backstroke
Survival floating
Swimming 25 yards with proper body position

Advanced Beginner
Children must pass ALL beginner three skills.
Skills Learned: Elementary backstroke
Sidestroke
Swimming crawl stroke for long distance
Basic survival skills

Intermediate
Children must pass ALL beginner three skills.
Skills Learned: Breaststroke
