Department Responsibilities

The services provided by the Personnel Department are:

  • Administration of, and guidance to, operating documents in labor and employee relations
  • Administration of the city's risk management program
  • Conducting and administering the city's recruitment and selection program
  • Develop, administer, and conduct citywide training programs
  • Ensure city compliance with applicable labor, benefit, medical, and safety laws and regulations
  • Oversight of the employee benefits administration
  • Provide oversight of the city's classification and compensation system
